AS A SOPHOMORE IN 2001: Led the Broncos defensively with 53 steals, totaling 74 in his young career…started in all 24 matches…tallied 16 goals and equally as many assists on the season, leading the team in assists.

Coach Hanson on Flanagan: He is probably one of the better ball handlers on the team. He’s also not very big, but I have seen him turn some of the biggest guys. He is very aggressive, has a nose for the ball and a knack for getting himself into position to shoot and score. He’s one of the guys I am looking to lead the team down the stretch. He’s got great leadership abilities. He’s easy to coach; he takes instruction very well and applies it immediately and it is awesome to see that. And again, he’s a natural that got by on his athletic ability in high school. He didn’t have to think about it too much, it was all just very natural, and now at this level you need all five other of your teammates to be involved and you need to rely on them a little bit. He is getting more comfortable with that and will be a great leader down the stretch.
